Robin Hewitt Temple, Executive Director, Owner and Licensee robin@fgnsinc.com
Robin’s love for little ones stems from her family where she is the oldest of 6 children. Rather than resenting her younger siblings Robin stepped in as activities director and has never looked back. Now her siblings are spread out from the West Coast to Southern FL, she has one sister in Falmouth.
Robin is a graduate of Saint Joseph College (now University of Saint Joseph) in West Hartford, CT. She obtained her M.Ed from Wheelock College in Boston, MA. Robin is one of the original members of the Coalition for Children. Robin has been interested in National Accreditation (NAEYC) since she attended a National Conference while still in college. Soon after opening Friendship Garden she perused accreditation for the center. Although no longer pursuing accreditation FG follows the criteria set for an accredited center. Robin remains the Executive Director for an affiliate of NAEYC, Northern Interior Alaska Association for the Education of Young Children (niaaeyc). She has long advocated for highly compensated competent educators. She also currently teachers Early Childhood Education for the University of Alaska, Fairbanks.
Robin enjoys spending time with her husband, Victor. They enjoy being outdoors walking, hiking, skiing, travelling and spending time with his grown children. August 2016 saw the birth of her first grandchild, 2018 saw the birth of grandchild #2, #3 is due November 2021!
